About us.

Lucy called up her Mum, Anne, on a chilly NZ morning in 2017 with an idea. What if, with Anne’s prolific knitting skills and Lucy’s design background, they came together to design a range of completely one-off knits, like pieces of abstract art, a one of one for the eccentric at heart. From there Lucy sent Anne a sketch, Anne got out her needles and Dorothy came to life.

Our knits.

Lucy designs most of the jumpers by creating a sketch and Anne translates that into the knitted garment.

Their designs are inspired by paintings, photography, art history, pop art, nature and exciting colour combos.

All knitwear is one-off and totally made by hand in New Zealand using ethically produced yarn (either fine kid mohair, a merino mohair mix or 100% wool) sourced locally in New Zealand from small family run businesses.
